To Benefit artists and the Christian Union Church
It is time to begin thinking of Thanksgiving and the holidays to follow. The Christian Union Church community decided many years ago that we wanted to reach out to artists who contribute to all of us on Cape Cod. The entire community from the outer cape and beyond has celebrated with us at the Holiday Arts Festival.
We celebrate the many forms of art that comes together at our annual Festival. Textiles, original jewelry, recycled sculptures, brilliant glass, fine photography, soap making, paintings and more.
Art is also expressed through wonderful food prepared just in time for Thanksgiving. Church members make pies, quiche, breads, canned goods, brownies and many other delicious surprises. All for sale.
Our annual silent auction always includes generous donations from the community such as gift certificates to restaurant, heating oil, local merchants certificates and other wonderful donations that can be great gifts for someone special.
We always accept donations for the silent auction and food sale.
Most important is the spirit of community that we all share at the beginning of this festive season. Please plan to come celebrate with Us!
LOOKING FOR A BEACHSIDE "HOME AWAY FROM HOME"?
You are welcome here!
Even though we have been around since 1707, we are a "doing" and "growing" church symbolized by our clearing and planting a
new community garden for North Truro last summer . A few plots are still available for this year's planting!
Christian Union Church in North Truro, Massachusetts is happy to be old Cape Cod's "home away from home" faith community for so many who enjoy the pleasures of the Outer Cape's summers of sea, sun and sand, but we want you to know that it is also the year 'round home to a small interdenominational membership of free thinking, committed, and inclusive seekers and believers who want to experience and worship God; learn about and follow Jesus whom we call Christ; and in so doing, serve the needs of our community and the Outer Cape with compassion and commitment.
FAITH FORMATION FOR ALL AGES
COMMUNITY SERVICE AND OUTREACH
Our congregation is supporting the recently formed Refugee Support Team of Nauset Interfaith Association (NIA) which has initiated a partnership with the refugee resettlement operation closest to us in Massachusetts. This past fall we sent $500 (via NIA) to Concordia Lutheran Church in Worcester which is resettling almost 50 refugees this month under the auspices of Acentria Care Alliance. We support a wide variety of local social service agencies as well as a number of international disaster relief services, and two medical missionaries in Kenya.
Since its founding in 1707, the Christian Union Church has been committed to providing spiritual, personal and social nurture to Outer Cape residents and visitors. Our progressive, interdenominational church is grounded on faith, hospitality and hope.
